VOLUNTEER REFERRAL SERVICE

In 2000, the Denver Probate Court established this program to assist low-income parties in understanding probate forms and procedures.  A number of attorneys volunteer to explain estate proceedings, guardianships/conservatorships, or other simple probate-related procedures. The information packets available on this site assist with these types of cases. As a Pro Se Party (a party without an attorney), you are advised to obtain, read, and understand the packet and to review the website before meeting with a volunteer attorney.

The Volunteer Attorney Service is not available to all people

ONLY Denver County residents or parties who have either cases that are pending or will be filed in the Denver Probate Court may use the service.

The volunteer attorney will determine if you are eligible for assistance.

If you have an attorney, you will not be eligible.

Other factors that may affect your eligibility include (but are not limited to) the following:

residency,
financial circumstances,
the complexity or status of your legal issue,
case status, or
venue.

If one of these factors makes you ineligible, the volunteer attorney will advise you of alternatives.
