Match Maker Program

ATTORNEYS

In 1996 the Denver Probate Court initiated a program to match litigants without lawyers with attorneys willing to publish fixed fee rates for routine probate services. Notice of the program was published to all attorneys who are members of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association via that section's quarterly publication "Council Notes" (March 1997, Vol.17 No.3).

Any attorney who wishes to participate in the program must submit the Attorney Information Sheet. This fact/fee sheet will be kept on the counter at the Probate Court for the public use. By submitting the fact/fee sheet to the Court the attorney agrees to
(1) charge only the fee revealed on the fact/fee sheet for the services provided and
(2) keep his/her fact/fee sheet updated at least annually.

Attorneys are encouraged to list additional services they are qualified to provide such as "Simple Will," "Durable Power of Attorney," etc. and the fixed fees they will charge for those services.

MEDIATORS

In 2004, the Denver Probate Court assembled information from various individuals and organizations who had expressed interest in providing mediation services to lawyers and pro se litigants involved in contested decedent’s estates and protective proceedings. The Court compiled a loose-leaf notebook that is located in the Denver Probate Court Clerk’s Office, Room 230, City and County Building in Denver. The notebook contains information about the services, fees, location, and specialties of these various individuals and organizations.

Any individual or organization that would like their information included in the loose-leaf notebook may download the Mediator Information Sheet:

Mediators may send in additional information to the Court; however, only the single-page information sheet will be included in the binder that is available to the public.

The Court cannot give referrals over the phone or internet but will allow the public access to the attorney and mediator notebooks during business hours.
